Our Global Wildcats serve as international student ambassadors. By acting as a bridge between prospective and current international students, our Global Wildcats assist the Office of Undergraduate Admission in recruiting students from all over the world.

Fun fact: I got two fractures on my left leg while dancing

Andre Avellar

Andre Avellar ’26

Studying: Biological Sciences and Psychology

Hometown: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

On Campus: Brazilian Student Association, Peer Mentor for Computer Science Classes, Research Assistant, International Peer Advisor, and mentor at Buffett Institute for Global Affairs

Fun Fact: I really like sports, and I took part in the Olympic Games Torch Relay in 2016

Fun fact: I am the co-captain of a traditional folk dance team from Punjab, India, called Bhangra
