Get to know us, wherever you are.
In any other year, we’d gladly encourage you to come and visit us in person, but we recognize that this is currently not possible for many, so we are working to translate the traditional on-campus experience to an online format, which you can find below.
To help visitors navigate, we have grouped information opportunities into three broad areas: Get an Overview, Learn More, and Connect.
- Get an Overview: Online information sessions, campus tours, and group travel
- Learn More: A closer look at our academic offerings and student life
- Connect: Online student panels and one-on-one chats with current undergraduate students
Note: If you are interested in a large group visit (10 or more students), please fill out an Online Group Visit Request Form.

REGISTER FOR AN INFORMATION SESSION
Online information sessions
Our 45-minute information session, led by an admission counselor in conjunction with a student representative, provides an overview of the University and its six undergraduate schools, student life and the application process and financial aid. Participants will also get the chance to ask questions at the conclusion of the program via chat.
You can also view a pre-recorded version.

Online campus tours
Campus tours feature full-length walking tours of campus filmed with a student tour guide who will be available via live chat during the tour stream to answer questions.
You can also view a pre-recorded version.
This vlog series features our admission directors talking through popular topics related to the college application process. The vlogs are not specific to Northwestern—they’re designed to give you more general advice as you navigate the coming months (and years!).
School-Specific Sessions and Panels
Please check the registration calendar to confirm session dates, times, and availability.
Register for a session
In addition to our general information sessions and student panels, advisers from Northwestern’s undergraduate schools host information sessions for prospective students. Not only do these sessions help you learn more about the school's areas of expertise, they may help you decide to which undergraduate school you want to apply.

School-specific student panels
Supplementing the school-specific sessions led by advisers are school-specific student panels during which you can ask questions of current Northwestern students studying in a particular school.
Live from Northwestern!
Our YouTube channel hosts recordings of our “Live from Northwestern!” series, which includes a look at areas like undergraduate research, study abroad, being a pre-medical student, and studying the liberal arts.
REGISTER FOR A STUDENT PANEl
Northwestern Student Perspectives: Online Panels
Learn more about living in the Evanston area and being a part of our campus community. Student panels will offer an opportunity to pose questions to current undergraduate students via online chat, much like an “Ask Me Anything” thread on Reddit.
REGISTER FOR student office hours
Northwestern Student Perspectives: Office Hours
Have a question for a current student? Office hours provide a more informal setting during which you can “drop in” and speak with current students, counselors, and fellow prospective students.

Purple Preview Conversations
Have you already attended an information session or an online student panel, but want to dig deeper into the Northwestern student experience? Sign up for a Purple Preview conversation, a one-on-one video or phone conversation with a current Northwestern student that lasts 30-45 minutes.

Meet Our Student Teams
In addition to our Purple Preview conversations, you can also connect with our student outreach teams to learn more about the undergraduate experience at Northwestern. Head over to our Student Teams page to get in touch with our #SocialSquad, Global Wildcats, Clave, and Ambassadors.
